New Spanish childrens broadcaster KITZ TV, part of Teuves bouquet of thematic channels, has snapped up more than 100 hours of programming from Icon Animations catalogue of animation to spearhead its November launch. The deal includes POSTMAN PAT (52x15 or 4x30), HILLTOP HOSPITAL (52x11) and BOOHBAH (104x20), which are represented by Icon Animation for Spain.
In addition, Icon Animation recently acquired worldwide rights to OLYMPIG (52x2) from Maga Animation, which is also part of the package of sales to KITZ TV.
Other Icon Animation titles acquired by KITZ include: LAZY LUCY (52x5); LOUI (78x7); 64 ZOO LANE (52x11); PABLO THE LITTLE RED FOX (52x5); THE GNOUFS (52x13); PLANET GRABO (26x13) from Millimages, and MEME & MR BOBO (33x26).
Canal KITZ will launch on Nov. 1, 2006, with programming, free of violent content, and tailored for the youngest kids in the house. The series and characters carefully selected by the channel will contribute to the social growth of kids communicating positive values such as friendship, generosity, education, solidarity, love, loyalty and family. Canal KITZ hopes to count on the support of parents, by providing a rigorous selection of content for the schedule. The channel will focus on didactic components and entertainment. Canal KITZ will be distributed by all major pay TV and IPTV platforms in Spain, complementing its offer with VOD services, a rich web site and new distribution outlets and will have a reach of over 1 million households in Spain.
Teuve is one of the main suppliers of contents and services for the pay television of the Spanish market, commercializing its eight thematic channels and services of video on demand through the main operators of cable television.
