face2face, a Lucent Technologies-owned facial analysis software developer, has named Kathleen Papera as director of business development and Rich Smith as director of marketing. In her new post, Papera will oversee face2face's marketing strategy, focusing on the gaming community. Papera will also be in charge of finding and managing relationships with complementary partners in the gaming industry, as well as supervising gaming customer's beta sites. "When I was first introduced to face2face's alterEGO, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of this venture," said Papera. "From its introduction, I perceived this software in the eyes of a content creator and was blown away. It is the most innovative software solution I've seen in the last two years, especially as a complete facial motion capture solution for the gaming industry. Even within tight budget constraints, the face2face alterEGO software suite remains a viable solution. I look forward to working closely with our partners to ensure that face2facealterEGO embodies a complete facial motion capture solution that animators can not imagine living without. I look forward to seeing animators and content creators push the visual envelope by raising the standards on character design and the overall gaming experience." face2face marketing VP, Bill Riley, said, "Kathleen's background is directly related to all of the markets that face2face software serves," said Riley. "She is a unique individual with a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience within the entertainment and gaming industries, who has been formally trained in animation. She fits in perfectly here and adds considerable value to our team." Previously, Papera was the director of creative development and marketing for a software company, specializing in a proprietary technology for artificial intelligence and children's software. Smith will be responsible for the development and refinement of the firm's marketing strategy, the creation of its tactical marketing plan and the execution of the marketing calendar. "This is a fantastic product to be associated with," said Smith. "It has tremendous advantages that are highly marketable attributes, such as cost and time savings, an intuitive operation, and is an overall superior product. The face2face alterEGO software is really in a field of its own." Most recently, Smith served as the director of marketing communications for an Internet-based technology company that provided in-room PC's with high-speed Internet access targeting business travelers.
