DreamWorks Animation Reveals First Images From ‘Trolls World Tour’

Ozzy Osbourne, George Clinton, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Clarkson join Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake in the studio’s upcoming ‘Trolls’ sequel, set to hit theatres next April.

Trolls World Tour reveal day just got even better!  On the heels of our earlier post revealing 21 character posters and the extended cast list from DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming Trolls sequel, the studio just sent us the first seven film stills they’ve released for public consumption. Dare we say, they make "vibrant" look like a First Man helmet reflection! As we shared earlier, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return as Poppy and Branch in adventure where they discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder. The film is set to hit theatres next April.

A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), aided by her father King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne), wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends — Biggie (James Corden), Chenille (Caroline Hjelt), Satin (Aino Jawo), Cooper (Ron Funches) and Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) — set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all.

In addition to Kendrick and Timberlake, the cast includes Rachel Bloom, Ozzy Osbourne, James Corden, Caroline Hjelt, Aino Jawo, Ron Funches, Kunal Nayyar, Mary J. Blige, George Clinton, Anderson .Paak, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Rockwell, Flula Borg, J Balvin, Ester Dean, Anthony Ramos, Jamie Dornan, Gustavo Dudamel, Charlyne Yi and Kenan Thompson.

Trolls World Tour is directed by Walt Dohrn, who served as co-director on Trolls, and is produced by returning producer Gina Shay. The film is co-directed by David P. Smith and co-produced by Kelly Cooney Cilella, both of whom worked on the first film. Trolls World Tour will also feature original music by Justin Timberlake, who earned an Oscar-nomination for his Trolls’ song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” and a score by Theodore Shapiro (2016’s Ghostbusters, The Devil Wears Prada).
