Disney Releases First Teaser Trailer + Images for 'Frozen'

Disney releases a first look at the upcoming animated feature Frozen with a new teaser trailer and new images.

In a takeover of the Weather Channel website, Disney has released a first look at the upcoming animated feature Frozen with a new teaser trailer and new images.

Billed as a stunning big-screen comedy adventure, Frozen features fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), who sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

According to a report by USA Today, which was given exclusive access to the new images earlier this week, Disney animators traveled to Norway to scope out the winter world firsthand and incorporated the look into Frozen's 3-D-enhanced scenery. Frozen director Chris Buck said his team had "a blast" re-creating the beauty on-screen.

"The light is amazing, the way it refracts and dances off the snow and ice," said Buck. "We're still working on the film, but what we have seen is stunning."

Frozen is directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Surf's Up) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, Wreck-It Ralph), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog). Featuring music from Tony winner Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), Frozen comes to US theaters in 3D on November 27, 2013.
