Disney Channel has recruited Emmy Award-winning animator Mike Moon to further build its animated series business as vp, animated series. This was part of a trio of promotions, which includes moving Adam Bonnett up from vp to svp, original series and Jeff Brustrom has been named vp, live-action series.
Gary Marsh, president, entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide made the announcements. Bonnett will continue to report to Marsh. Brustrom and Moon will report to Bonnett.
"Adam Bonnett is a fantastic executive who has led our original series programming department to its greatest success yet, working with a world-class team to deliver top-quality series that connect with kids, tweens and families all over the globe," Marsh said. "One of his best hires five years ago was Jeff Brustrom who has a particularly keen eye for universally appealing material for kids. Rewarding their acumen and now landing the immensely talented and well-regarded producer Mike Moon is a real coup for us."
Bonnett oversees all live-action and animation development and current series for Disney Channel's programming block for kids 6-14 and for the Jetix branded action/adventure block for kids 6-11. VP, original series, since 2001, Bonnett joined Disney Channel in 1997 as director, current programming. Bonnett will continue to lead the entire series programming team that delivered the Emmy-nominated sensation THAT'S SO RAVEN, Disney Channel's newest runaway hit THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK & CODY, the Emmy Award-winning KIM POSSIBLE, the critically acclaimed NAACP Image Award nominee THE PROUD FAMILY, the hugely popular Lizzie McGuire and the Emmy-nominated comedy EVEN STEVENS.
Brustrom will oversee development and current programming for all live-action series on Disney Channel. He joined the team as director in 2001. Since then, he developed several key series, including THAT'S SO RAVEN; which has grown around the world to be Disney Channel's most successful series to-date, the comedy, THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK & CODY; plus the global hit, AMERICAN DRAGON: JAKE LONG, among others.
Animator/producer Moon won an Emmy Award last year for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation for his work as producer/art director on Cartoon Network's FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS. He also won an Emmy Award for his work as director/art director on MICKEY'S MOUSEWORKS for Walt Disney Television Animation.
He also was art director on THE POWERPUFF GIRLS MOVIE and director/art director on DISNEY'S HOUSE OF MOUSE.
He began his career at Klasky Csupo as a layout artist on THE SIMPSONS. His other credits include Clone High and Dexter's Laboratory. Most recently, he's been part of the Walt Disney Television Animation team and will continue to guide various projects there.
