U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-NY) has released a letter to the defense department inspector general and the CIA inspector general calling for an investigation into director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Mark Boal’s Osama bin Laden assassination film on whether the Obama administration leaked sensitive information to the filmmakers, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Bigelow and Boal have come back and said that the claims are baseless and say their film is non-partisan and a tale of an American triumph.

King became concerned after the NY Times ran an article about how the filmmakers were receiving government cooperation for their film.

Sony Pictures is producing the film.
