Prime Video’s new installment of the beloved sci-fi franchise, set 50 years after the events of ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ stars Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben as series regulars alongside Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, and Matthew Needham in recurring roles.
Dimitri Abold (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and Lewis Gribben (Somewhere Boy) have joined Prime Video’s Blade Runner 2099 as series regulars alongside Katelyn Rose Downey (The Nun II), Daniel Rigby (Renegade Nell), Johnny Harris (A Gentleman In Moscow), Amy Lennox (Only Child), Sheila Atim (The Woman King), and Matthew Needham (House of the Dragon) as recurring guest stars. The series will be led by previously announced Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer.
Although exact plot details have not been revealed, the upcoming live-action limited series serves as a follow-up to Blade Runner 2049 (2017).
Silka Luisa (Shining Girls) will showrun and executive produce under the Alcon Entertainment banner with co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson and Alcon TV head Ben Roberts, in association with Scott Free Productions and Amazon Studios. Ridley Scott, director of the original, seminal Blade Runner (1982), will executive produce alongside director Jeremy Podeswa, Michael Green (writer for Blade Runner 2049), Cynthia Yorkin, and Scott Free Productions’ David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger, Frank Giustra, Tom Spezialy, and Isa Dick Hackett.
No word yet on who will handle the VFX. The series is set to stream on Prime Video at a yet un-announced date.
