AtomFilms Signs Paramount, Forty & Shorty Deal

AtomFilms has signed a deal with Paramount Television Group, Paramount Digital Entertainment and Claude Brooks' C To The B Productions to produce a new Web series entitled FORTY AND SHORTY. The deal will see 26 initial 2-3 minute Webisodes, airing every Wednesday starting July 26, 2000. FORTY AND SHORTY chronicles two 13-year-old misfit friends, one black, one white, who live across the street from each other - one in the ghetto, the other in a trailer park. The show is created by Claude Brooks and Rick Gomez. Brooks is the co-creator/executive producer of MTV's LYRICIST LOUNGE SHOW, and has starred in and produced numerous sitcoms such as CLAUDES CRIB and HITZ. Gomez also starred in the series HITZ and appeared in such features as THREE TO TANGO, ENOUGH ALREADY and MERCY. The series will be a C To The B Production in association with Paramount Digital Entertainment and Paramount Network Television exclusively distributed on AtomFilms.com. "Paramount is at the forefront of on-line entertainment and AtomFilms is the perfect distribution partner for FORTY AND SHORTY," said Brooks. "I've been given the chance to do something edgy, irreverent and fun. Where else could you do something like this?" Eric Calderon, development executive for AtomFilms, said, "We are excited to work with both Claude and Paramount to be the exclusive on-line environment for this new innovative series. AtomFilms will leverage its market leading community to incubate this series and to develop the first-ever studio-to-Internet development relationship."
