Okay. I am new to this forum and such, but I've been searching for something off this kind for months now. See, I'm trying to become a voiceovers actor. It won't be easy, but I thought about having a webisode series through you tube since you tube is such a popular website with videos.
I'd like to have something funny, fresh, and laughable. I've talked with various people if they would watch an animated webisode series and they all said yes only if it was funny and fresh. regardless it probably won't be as professional as a television series, but it would be fun. I've always wanted to do a webisode series, but due to the inexperience of animation design I can't do it.
Would anyone be willing to do it? If you think about it, it could perhaps even help you pursue your dream of animation design. It would be fun...
We'd of course have to have animation designer or designers. Script writers, and of course people to act the characters out. It sounds pretty fun, but i can't do it myself. I have no animation design experience. i am a graphic/web designer, but am no good with animation, lol...
Thanks in Advanced,
-Nathaniel
Nathaniel--
Animation designing isn't really necessary for what you are proposing.
If you are trying to become a voice-over actor, using simple/crude animated stick figures can work well enough for you because the focus is supposed to be on your performance and delivery and not the artwork.
Something done very simply, using stick figures with the right gags and material can be piss-your-pants funny. This is something you could draw yourself, and the animation principles to bring them to life are not that hard to learn.
Heck, you could even use sock-puppets, a la Shari Lewis--and have something really charming.
Don't get locked into the whole animation thing..........besides......its an awful lot of work to do for "fun".

Yea, but I figured having a funny animation series would be much better. it would attract other people as well as help me and even the animation artist to further their careers
The best voice-over actors are actors first. Just saying. Use this nugget as you will.
Well, I'm sorry if I'm not an actore. I don't like onscreen acting. I love voiceovers...
Theres also nothing wrong with just muting an already-existing animation and replacing your voice with it.
It's like when singers audition, they use songs from other artists. The animation isn't really the key here, and I get you want to do it for something new that could get popular, but first practice with whatever animation you can find.
Great Idea! I didn't think of that.. Thanks!
What I think you're looking to do reminds me of an old MTV show that I used to love. Ken reminded me of it when he mentioned sock puppets. Checking it out might help.
Head over to YouTube and search for "Sifl and Olly".
