Last Call For Films!
This is the LAST CALL for film submissions to be shown at the fmx/07 conference in Stuttgart (see below). Thanks to all those who have sent in their work thus far. This is a great opportunity to receive exposure in a prestigious international venue, so get those DVDs in to: The Animation Co-op, 2340 Overland Avenue, Los Angeles, 90064. Deadline for receiving submissions is April 20th.
The Animation Co-op @ fmx/07
The Animation Co-op will have a substantial presence at the fmx/07 Conference on Animation, Effects, Realtime and Content, held in Stuttgart, Germany from May 1st to May 4th. Animation Co-op co-founder Kevin Geiger is a member of the fmx/07 Advisory Board, and will deliver the opening keynote address "Your Grassroots Are Showing: Current Trends in Independent Content Generation". In addition, Animation Co-op co-founder Moon Seun will join Kevin to deliver a presentation on the Co-op entitled "Declaration of Independents", covering the inception, purpose and operation of the organization and featuring the work of Animation Co-op members. Finally, Moon will present her own independent work predating and including Simplistic Pictures in a session entitled "Work In Progress: Life As A Digital Artist". Getting It Done[LIST]
[*]Chris Lackey has completed his feature film "The Chosen One" (which some of you will recall as a work-in-progress from an Animation Co-op project pitch session). A premiere in Culver City is currently scheduled, and we will extend notice of the first public screening as we receive word. http://www.thechosenonemovie.com/
[*]Mike Blum's web series "The Adventures of Baxter & McGuire" has received such an outstanding response that Comedy Central has had the balls to air episodes on their "Web Shows" broadcast. ;-) The schedule may be found here http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_schedule/index.jhtml?seriesId=22466, with "Baxter & McGuire" showing next on the April 17th program.

FJORG! - An "Iron Animator" Event
Hotshot CG animators are invited to participate in the first international FJORG! competition - an iron animator event to be launched at SIGGRAPH 2007. Competing teams will attempt to create outstanding character-driven animation within a limited window of 32 straight hours, while overcoming multiple staged distractions in a test of skill, talent, creativity, and physical endurance. :-) Check out http://www.siggraph.org/s2007/presenters/fjorg/ for more details. The application deadline is May 1st.
