Pixar an auteur?

Do you think that Pixar could be considered as an auteur? i'm unsure whether their trends and style is enough to confer auteur status on the production company

i think autuer would be reserved for individuals at the helm. innovators mabe

If every PIXAR film had the same director, then I could see the auteur theory being applied successfully. But, since that's not the case, the theory doesn't work.

However, the auteur theory CAN be applied to the works of Chuck Jones, Bob McKimson, Bob Clampett, and Friz Freleng.

I know Chuck Jones' binary opposites already:

small character/forbidding environment
intellect/instinct
determination/ineptitude
recognition/aspiration

Brad Bird was close to an auteur, but even The Incredibles had a Pixar "sheen" to it.

Just about any successful director is an auteur by definition, but production companies aren't auteurs.

Just call me "Mr. Dictionary." ;)

A collective organization by definition excludes it from being an auteur, which describes a single author.

If, however, you're asking if Pixar's style is unique enough to coin the description of "Pixar-esque", then I'd say it is.
