You might find this of interest; character animation (developed in Flash) for use in some corporate online training. He's a character I got to design for HCA; "Seymour Regs". He's based on their logo, which has a star in it.
The training covers Medicare regulations--dull, dull, dull stuff--so they wanted a funny, little cartoon to jazz things up. I can't show you the content, but trust me, it's pretty bland. Seymour pops up whenever things have blah-blah'd on for too long.
The dialogue is pretty soporific, but I think he came out cute as the dickens and HCA is really letting me get away with some silly gags. I'm thrilled for the opportunity--they were the last company I would have expected to ask for a cartoony character like this. --ted

He's a starfish or just a star? The animation and character designs are cool as he works on the computer. Keep it up!

Cute character!
I especially love it when he's behind the desk.
Is that your voice?
I've been to your website before.
I'm the one that told you that one of your cartoons/images looks like the "Incredible Two Headed Transplant".
That movie used to give me nightmares when I was little!
The guy on the left kinda reminds me of John Candy.

Hey, yeah, pcdoctor, I remember you writing in about the two heads. That's still a personal favorite. The client never saw it because of a scaredy cat project manager, so it didn't get used.
That was also HCA. They're loosening up and I'm getting to animate a skin lesion for this current course (with the Star). I'll post that when it's finished. I can't wait to do it.
Seymour is not a starfish, BTW, but the actual "species" he is supposed to be isn't really spelled out. He's derived from HCA Government Services division's logo which is has a star formed out of a red, white and blue ribbon (which becomes his bowtie in an introduction sequence). Really he's more like an animated gold star, like you'd get stuck on your report card in kindergarten. We've used that premise as a gag in one bit. It still cracks me up when he types with his little points. (You know how a character can take on a life of its own?)
The voice is a friend of mine, Andrew Thompson. He's done some silly little things for me in the past (some on my site) and is now starting to try to break into voiceover work professionally. That was his first paying gig, but he's got a natural talent for cartoon characters. (I told him I was going to make him a star. He didn't think that was all that funny). He's done a couple of different characters for us now and he's knocked our socks off. FYI, an mp3 of his demo can be heard here.
