What's going on in your Animation Coop Chapter?

I've been watching this forum since Kevin went to the effort to have it here for us, waiting for something to happen. Some things, have I guess, but I'm very interested in what's going on in Animation Coop chapters around the country.

I host the new San Jose chapter. We've had one meeting, with three people in attendance, and I believe we'll have another in October. We got together and talking about our projects, software, ideas, inspiration. Since we're not too often around other animators, it was great to make contact and spend time with someone as nuts as ourselves. Time well spent, and pizza well eaten.

I hope other SF bay area animators will come out of the woodwork and get together with us, and I'd love to hear what's working in other chapters.

Hi Rupert,

I know that Philly and Columbus have met. New York and Orlando have been pretty quiet. I'm not sure how many of the chapter sponsors frequent this discussion board.

The Los Angeles chapter has been humming along nicely, benefitting from a concentration of members and available meeting places. We meet approximately once every two months, and our attendance has ranged from the low 30s to over 100. Average event attendance is in the upper 40s, with roughly half of those present each time being newcomers.

Our most successful gatherings have been those which feature well-defined themes, such as the Mike Nguyen presentation or our project pitch nights.

We're overdue for another meeting here in L.A., so stay tuned! :-)
