SEMAFX, the ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter of Southeast Michigan features their First Creative Congress of Michigan on Tuesday, February 21, 2006, from 6-10 pm.
This Congress cordially invites all User Groups, schools, companies, post houses, studios and other creative organizations to send us ONE Delegate who will speak for your group and describe your GOALS to the gathering. Even if you don't want to speak, then come mingle and schmooze with some of Michigan's most creative, talented and inspiring people!
Gnomon Workshop: Live
The Gnomon Workshop is presenting its second workshop weekend, running from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The weekend features speakers in and out of the Gnomon Workshop library, presenting on subjects including creature design, Photoshop, Painter 9, Shake, concept design and poly modeling. In addition, attendees also get a chance to meet some highly accomplished artists who will take you inside their own personal projects, businesses and processes.

Introduction to Stop Motion Animation
Age: Grades 13 & above
Beginners Welcome!
Stop Motion is animaton that uses, puppets, claymation, moving lego men etc . Movies like "A Nightmare Before Christmas", "James and the Giant Peach", and shows like "Wallace and Grommit", "Gumby", and "Thunderbirds" all use stop-motion animation.
Learn how to create your own stop-motion animation shorts in this 10 day program. Students will work together on a project that will end with a completed film.

2nd International Conference On Technology, Knowledge And Society
Following the success of the inaugural International Conference on Technology, Knowledge and Society held at the University of California Berkeley, the second conference will be held in one of the emerging IT center of the world, Hyderabad. Asia Media Festival 2005

Movie Screening of 'MESH'
MESH, an animated film created by The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles faculty member Beau Janzen, was recently awarded "Best Animation" at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. Mesh explores the advancement of discrete geometry from the ancient Greeks to contemporary research topics. The animations takes advanced concepts in discrete geometry that have never previously been visualized and conveys them in a way that is palpable and relevant to even a novice audience.
