Will Vinton at Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale

On Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Will Vinton will be speaking and presenting his work to Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale animation and game art students at the Embassy Suites on 17th Street. This is open to guests interested in meeting this leading visionary in the animation field who coined the word claymation and famous for his California Raisins commercials.

Vinton introduced several new brands of animation to audiences around the world by launching the careers of the California Raisins, the Noid, Dinosaurs "Herb & Rex," M&M's "Red & Yellow" and THE PJS' Thurgood Stubbs that aired on The WB Network. Winner of Oscar, Emmy and Clio awards, Vinton continues to break new ground in computer character animation, claymation, stop-motion and Flash animation. Under his new banner, "Freewill Ent.," he has produced and directed a new live action/CG animation hybrid movie called THE MORNING AFTER, which recently won the Bronze Remi Award at Worldfest in Houston, Texas. He has also recently ventured into new and exciting territory with the creation of JACK HIGHTOWER, a 110-page graphic novel with Dark Horse Comics due to hit the bookshelves on Jan. 17.
