The Game Initiative will host the "How To Break Into Video Game Industry: Conference and Resume Workshop" the day before the Austin Game Conference and the Women's Game Conference. The Breakin conference is designed for students and professionals eager to get a job in the computer and videogame industry.
The event is open to artists, programmers, designers and others looking to get into the business. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with industry insiders, including top recruiter Mary-Margaret.com, hiring managers from local game companies as well as network and meet with industry veterans. Students will learn how to build an early professional road map to a career in the game industry. Professionals looking to move into the business from other industries will learn how their experience and transferable skills can gain rapid entry into this industry. The event will also provide a opportunity for local companies to meet potential new talent.
