Anim'est International Animation Film Festival 2006

Anim'est International Animation Film Festival will debut in Bucharest, screening films such as LIFE IN TRANSITION by John Dilworth and GUIDE DOG by Bill Plympton. One of the events included in the festival will be a presentation of Dilworth's work.

The festival will comprise around 200 short animated films together with 13 recent feature-length films and a retrospective of Romanian animated films. Other films to screen include Enrique Gato's TADEO JONES (winner of the 2006 Goya Award), Tomek Baginski's FALLEN ART (2006 BAFTA Award), Jonas Geinaert's FLATLIFE (2004 jury's award for screenplay at the Cannes Festival).

The short films in the festival are grouped into several sections: international short films, a focus on Czech animation cinematography, a program of British animation, a series of Iranian animated films, programs of Polish short films and a retrospective of Romanian animation through five programs of short films offered by the National Film Archive.

The first edition of the Anim'est festival will take place in three cinemas in the capital
