What year are you in?

Hi,

This course I did at the University of Arts London was a one year intensive course, so I've only had a year's experience of 3D. I know I need to develope my character animation, but you know I only had 3 months to make this and I'm really proud of it, my tutor's were really pleased with it too. I haven't had my grades back yet as its been sent to an external board for marking.
Did you like it? :)

I really liked it and think it's very impressive for 3 months. It's a great concept = I love the idea of a young son-of-death. So he's sneaking out at night with dire consequences? Is that it? You can do a lot with that. Very funny.

I like the set design and your special effects - water, lighting, fog.

Mort's face was the only thing I'd like to see a little more polished. His robes worked well and I liked his gliding motion. I also liked his hands.

The sound design was a little rough. The music and sounds were fine, just sharp starts and stops. But, that's neither here nor there since you're concentrating on animation.

I think it was a successful animated short. Well done.

Thank you!:D
You got the story idea perfectly. My friend wrote 15 minutes worth of music for a 3 and a half minute film so I did find it difficult to mix the music

I am not a real fan of beginners adding special effects. I'd rather see more emphasis on the characters and action. Check out the clock on your page. The way the one side is out of level with the rest of the clock would drive even a beginning modeler crazy. I did kind of enjoy the story. I agree Mort needs more work. Do something about his eyes. But it's ok.

Something for beginners, spend less time on your credits and more on the piece.

Hello,

The clock is a symetrical model, the picture on my webpage looks like that because of the way I positioned the camera. I know Mort needs a little more work on the animation side, but he looks exactly how I designed him which was suppossed to be simple and cute, maybe he could be smoothed a bit.
I don't get the comment about the credits though, as there is only 3 names on there and Final Cut did them in a few minutes, I didn't spend hardly any time on them.
I got a distinction from my Tutors for this, I now have to wait to see what my overall grade for the course is from the assesment board.
