I am creating an animated pilot. I submitted several concepts to Adult Swim, and they showed some mild interest in Dance With Grandpa, but at that point it hadn't been developed enough. Now I've developed it more and dig it much more, and have written the pilot script.
The great thing about this project for an animator is that I'm giving complete freedom to the animators. Although much of the script is carefully written, I'm letting other parts be loosely scripted so that the actors doing the voices can improvise, and the animators can come up with their own ideas and take the show in whatever direction they like.
The reason for this is that this is essentially a dark, twisted, Liquid Television/Blue Jam like animated sketch comedy series .... a creepy, funny show about things that go bump in the night .... therefore any style of animation is really acceptable for each segment. 2D, 3D, stop motion, anything that's interesting to look at and has the right feel.
"We are the laughing few who understand your soul's torment ... sent from hell to love you."
I can offer no money right now, but whatever you create I can use it and this will be one hell of a project.
If you can help out with any animation and art in any way, please email me at tygerbug (at) yahoo.com. I am a filmmaker and director of seven no-budget features and over thirty shorts. You can visit my site at orangecow.org.

So ... here's the info ... I'll post it in several posts since this thing cuts you off at about four images per post, and not much text. Annoying!
The idea is to create a series that's ... well .... strange, twisted and wrong on many levels.
The editing is flashy and nonsensical, some of the drawings seem scrawled by a madman. We are in a world of darkness with bizarre characters and a galaxy of fawning, obsequious robots.
Ink test videos for Dance With Grandpa. Animated these last night and yesterday.
Lip synch is not exact, because these were designed to work with more than one line when edited. But here's vaguely what they're saying.
"Stench! I suck dick for money! I don't love you or understand your problems. I am filled with a wistful longing for the past."

"You're great, you're great, you're really wonderful, you're great."

"Of course I'm great. I'm the greatest."

And here is a bit of the script. It degenerates into loose notes at the very end rather than true script, partly because we do so much improv in the voice recording sessions that I haven't really gotten the script to catch up with what we're actually doing yet!
