Personally, I'm more concerned over the Adidas/Reebok merger.
I was thinking the same thing, it's a good thing their merging, and besides I am more concerned about who stole my ipod, and I mean the one that plays video :)

Eh. As long as they keep filling Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons with cartoons, I'll be happy. I'd rather watch mediocre animation than no animation at all.
I'd love to see more Star Trek (I love it even when it's bad :D), hopefully there'll be some money to put behind a new series.

Sorry kd not in this day age and time, Star Trek will always be alegend, but as time calls for big changes, there certainly isn't room to accommadate the old and new that's why shows now adays appeal to the hip young market.

They said the same thing just as The Next Generation was comming out and it seriously rocked. Of the new ones, Deep Space 9 was the only series I couldn't get into. And it's not as if Star Trek doesn't have a large enough following to make it even a moderate success by today's 130 cable channel standards. But they are far from young and hip (I for, instance, am neither of these things :))
What will probably help the franchise the most is just taking a little break and regrouping. Look how an 'unhip' idea like wagon train in space, revamped for a new audience, can really kick ass (talking about Battlestar Gallactica).
Perhaps a Star Trek Elite Forces would be dark enough to catch a new generation's attention.

Don't worry, I still think you're hip and fun :) ( oh my goodness, I sound like Paris Hilton  ) as always there is hope for shows that can actually have people play dress up, go figure, in the future as you just adequantly put it, there may be hope for Star Wars to "revamp" my my, only time and 100,000 ST junkies will tell.

I don't know if that was a typo, or if you really were talking about Star Wars not Trek. Careful were you confuse you're "Star" shows. Say it at the wrong convention and you'll find yourself getting pummeled by a hundred pasty white geeks with various foam props. Not a pretty way to go.
But if you did mean Star Wars, (or didn't, it doesn't really matter) rumor has it that there is a new Star Wars show coming along from the newly formed Lucas Animation/Film division from what I hear. It's supposed to take place in the 20-30 years between Ep3 and Ep4, and it's going to be live action. Of course, that's just rumor, but it would seem that Lucas has positioned himself to enter the TV market with the addition of Lucas in Singapore.
Starfleet Academy will get made someday, but Shatner and Nimoy will have to die off first. OK, Shatner, anyway. He's the one who's been the most vocal about nobody else ever playing Kirk.
I dunno... I quit watching WB after Buffy ended. I bought the first four seasons of Smallville on DVD, and have yet to take them out of the wrapping.
I own too many DVDs and DVD sets I have yet to see, and too many games to play, Fly Guy to be completed, etc. to get excited about TV anymore.
i dont watch either channels....
although i usually tune in for Sienfeld re-runs on UPN at 10
i get my cartoons from Nick and CN originals.
