New cartoon idea to be worked out

Hi everyone,

I have a new cartoon idea that i would like to work out and as I am new to this I would appreciate some advise on the step by step process of making it. What are the do's and the don'ts, etc?

As I believe that my idea can really make it, the aim for the cartoon is to eventually be in episodes and shown on TV, but this of course is in a much further stage.

Where I would like to get some help / advise on the process are with the first steps, such as the script made as a comic with rough drawings, including character design; and from there on making a few minute trailer for a future pitch.
