Getting Buzzed – Cameron's Return & Remaking a Classic

James Cameron returns to sci-fi.

Not a great amount of buzz this week, but the buzz that we have is big. Animated flick from Rob Zombie. Interesting docs — one on advertising and one from Michael Moore. A remake of a horror classic. And James Cameron's return.

Getting Buzzed
5) The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (Sept. 22, 2009)
Trailer
Word is that this trailer doesn't scratch the surface of how insane Rob Zombie's devious animated film really is. Voice cast includes Tom Papa, Sheri Moon Zombie, Rosario Dawson, Brian Posehn and Paul Giamatti as Dr. Satan. The last one has me sold.

4) Art & Copy (Aug. 21, 2009)
Trailer
Call me weird but I've always been fascinated with how things are marketed to people. How are ads manipulating us? This documentary talks with some of the legends of creative advertising. Someone had to come up with "Where's the beef?' you know.

3) Capitalism: A Love Story (Sept. 23, 2009)
Trailer
Michael Moore is back. If you're still reading this then you're an open-minded person. Moore points his left-dar at Wall Street in his new film, which attempts to get to the bottom of the financial meltdown. The trailer shows off a lot of his typical PT Barnum-style, which I personally find very entertaining. I'm a Moore fan, but I have a feeling that with this issue he might have a lot more people from the full political spectrum on his side.

2) The Wolfman (Feb. 12, 2010)
Trailer
Universal has been shuffling this film along for a year now. You never know if that's a good sign or not. I'm a big fan of the original WOLFMAN and star Benicio Del Toro is one too. The trailer looks visually arresting. The original film's screenplay was tense and modern; I hope this film isn't TRANSFORMER #2 modern.

1) Avatar (Dec. 18, 2009)
Trailer
James Cameron's return to fictional films is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year. The new teaser gives little plot and simply treats us to the vibrant visuals. I'm still waiting to be blown away, but I'm eagerly awaiting the final product. Is this another TITANIC or something better? I'm hoping for better.
