Sonic the Hedgehog Comes to the iPod

SEGA of America announced that SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is now available for play on the new iPod nano with video, the iPod classic and the fifth generation iPod. SONIC fans can purchase and download the game from the iTunes Store for $4.99. Sonic has been designed specifically for the iPod and is available on the 22 iTunes Stores around the world.

Phoenix Completes HD Sonic the Hedgehog, Red Steele Spots

Phoenix Editorial and Designs has just completed two new spots for ad agency Duncan/Channon. BOOM, directed by John Perez of production company Notorious 24:7, promotes the new SONIC THE HEDGEHOG title from Sega for PS3 and the Xbox 360. Director Jordan Brady from prodco Uber Content helmed the ad SENSEI, which introduces the Ubisoft title RED STEELE for the new Nintendo console Wii. Both spots broke nationally this month.

YTV BBQs in July

Animated stars resident filmmaker Ian Kelly (BEING IAN), and the funny Frenchman in underpants, Yvon Ducharme (YVON OF THE YUKON) will be hosting two hours of their favorite episodes on Canada Day, Friday, July 1, 2005. With original animation created by Studio B Prods. in collaboration with YTVs On-Air Promotions department, these two characters host the BBQ blowout from Ian Kellys backyard Canada Day party, with all the barbecue fixings and even some fireworks.

4Kids Announces Home Entertainment Releases For June 2004

4Kids Entertainment Home Video, in association with FUNimation, will release seven new titles on June 1, 2004. The videos and DVDs include: CABBAGE PATCH KIDS: The Clubhouse (VHS/DVD), TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: Volume 10: Secret Origins (VHS/DVD), YU-GI-OH!: Season 2 Volume 5: Mime Control & Volume 6: Double Duel (VHS/DVD), SONIC X: Volume 1: A Super Sonic Hero & Volume 2: The Chaos Factor (VHS/DVD) and ULTRAMAN TIGA: Volume 3: GUTS Headquarters Under Attack (DVD).

Sonic Heroes Ships on PlayStation 2 & Xbox

SEGA of America has begun shipping SONIC HEROES for Xbox and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment systems. This is the first original SONIC THE HEDGEHOG console game in three years and the first appearance for the character on Xbox and PlayStation 2. SONIC HEROES for Nintendo GameCube was released on January 6, 2004.

Responding to an ongoing demand in the marketplace for brand value programming, DIC Ent. will offer 91 half-hour animated episodes in the TOTALLY SONIC! package, which includes a private collection of never-before-seen episodes available for the first time to international buyers in all major language versions, at booth 17.01 during MIPCOM.

Sonic Launches PrimeTime Deluxe for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004

Sonic Solutions has released Sonic PrimeTime Deluxe, the premium version of the PrimeTime line of DVD creation software, for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition. Launched in conjunction with Microsoft's release of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004, PrimeTime Deluxe expands upon the Media Center experience by making it easy to archive personal digital media such as recorded TV shows onto DVDs that can be played on set-top DVD players and multimedia PCs.

Video Symphony Launches DVD Production Courses

Hollywood-based Video Symphony has launched two new classes in DVD production: the DVD Certificate and DVD Bootcamp programs. The classes cover DVD authoring and design, from basic skills to advanced techniques. The curriculum emphasizes "hands-on" learning with Sonic Scenarist, Sonic DVD Creator and Apple DVD Studio Pro systems. The DVD Certificate program will focus more on the Sonic software, while the DVD Bootcamp will focus on Apple DVD Studio Pro. The specific courses will include: Intro to Sonic DVD Creator, Intro to DVD Studio Pro, Intro to Sonic Scenarist, Designing DVD Menu Graphics with After Effects, Encoding Audio & Video for DVD and Advanced DVD Authoring.

Classes will be taught by Barry Braverman, a Certified DVD author for the Sonic DVD Creator system. Along with more than 20 years of experience as a DP and cameraman, Braverman has also authored more than 50 DVD titles and is a regular contributing writer to Video Systems Magazine.

The Sundance Channels Sonic Cinema series is airing an episode that focuses on animation for music videos. SONIC CINEMA: ANIMATORS delves into the rich and ever-expanding universe of animated music. The program is made up of music videos, short films and short-form documentaries and features the talents of Bill Plympton, Mark Brierley, Jamie Hewlett, Tomas Apodaca, Tim Hope and the Toei Animation Studio. SONIC CINEMA: ANIMATORS airs on The Sundance Channel on October 19, 2001 at 11 pm and Sunday, October 21, 2001 at 1 am.

DIC debuts new cartoons Sabrina, Sonic and Sherlock

DIC is introducing three new half-hour series at NATPE: Sabrina: The Animated Series, Sonic Underground and Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. Sabrina is based off the ABC TV series which was originally based on the Archie comic books. 65 episodes, scheduled to air in the U.S. on UPNs Disney Afternoon and distributed by Buena Vista Television internationally, will feature the voice of Emily Hart as 12-year old Sabrina and Melissa Joan Hart as the voice of Sabrinas two aunts.
