With the lofty goal of transforming the cultural understanding and language of animation as an artistic medium, in its fourth year the GLAS Animation Festival continues to grow, packed with special guests, more than 20 special programs, and a new Vimeo Staff Pick Award.
For the first time ever, the Vimeo Staff Pick Award will be presented at the GLAS Animation Festival with a $2,500 cash prize and online launch as a Staff Pick.
Signature short film promoting 4th annual Berkeley, CA-based animation festival is directed by visual artist Manshen Lo, with music and sound by Skillbard.
Led by Animation Supervisor Jason Carpenter and Animation Producer Irene Kotlarz, a team of CalArts alumni created the lyrical, painterly scenes for the film that evoke the history and landscape of Malala’s Swat Valley homeland.
