The Oscar-winning animator drew inspiration from the village of Salamiou’s landscape, creating ‘Views of World’ for the 22^nd edition of the festival returning August 9-12.

The 3DCG animated feature, screening June 13, follows the journey of a teenage orangutan, Ozi, and her friends on a voyage of discovery while highlighting the plight of the world’s rainforests and ecosystems; the festival runs June 11-17.

Based on the popular ‘Miraculous’ series, the animated feature joins the streamer’s ‘Family Summer Lineup’ in July.

Studio adds industry veterans Louis Flores as VFX supervisor and Chrissy Metge as EP, Animation as it expands to partner on yet-to-be-announced animated feature production.

With the additional title, the studio exec’s responsibilities include all aspects of the company’s operations while he continues to lead brand marketing and film development.

Nine animation programs highlight techniques, themes, and the divergence of the country’s multi-faceted culture, with selections highlighting the beginnings of Mexican animation, its indigenous people’s influences on the art form, the emergence of Mexican television content and the untold stories of the country’s structural violence.

11 animated features have been chosen to compete at this year's festival, including ‘Art College 1994’ by Liu Jian, ‘La Sirène’ by Sepideh Farsi and ‘Sirocco and the Kingdom of Air Streams’ by Benoît Chieux; the 47th edition of the festival runs June 11-17.
