Anima Mundi Web 2009 is the tenth edition of the traditional international internet animation contest of Anima Mundi, International Animation Festival of Brazil. The contest is open to animated works produced by professional or amateur animators, specially created for the Internet.

The 28th edition of the Brussels Anima Festival, one of the most important animation festivals in Europe, will be taking place during the Carnival holiday period, from February 20-28.
Anima 2009 will be once again opening with a sneak preview: the latest film by Hayao Miyazaki, PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA, an animated feature for young and old, whose heroine is a little goldfish princess who desperately wants to become human, and in her search, becomes friends with 5-year-old Sosuke. This film was in the official competition at the last Venice festival.
AMER BETON, directed by Michael Arias, won the Anima 2008 Feature Film Grand Prix at the festival last week in Brussels.
The Michael Arias-directed film also won the Anima 2008 audience award.
Anima 2008's jury picked THE TALE OF HOW by the Blackheart Gang (South Africa) as the Anima 2008 Short Film Grand Prix.

For the first time in 2008, the competition will include best musical video award and best commercial award. Anima provides a key showcase for the entire range of quality animation, right in the heart of Europe.
Anima Mundi has issued a final call for entries for Anima Mundi Web 2007 and Anima Mundi Cell 2007.
Anima Mundi Web is for animated works specially created for the Internet. Files will be accepted only with the extensions ".swf" (shockwave flash) or ".flv" (flash video). There is no time limit for the length of the animation, size up to 5 mb.
The third Anima Basauri will present a schedule of the latest works from state and foreign artists, with a competition section on feature and short films. The event will contain various retrospectives, cinema for young children, roundtables and exhibitions. Organized by Gorostilanda and the cultural association Gozila, Anima Basuri has been made possible with the sponsorship of Basauri Town Council's Youth Area and the cooperation of the Basque government and the Bizkaia Foral Council Cultural Departments.
