Funding valued up to $158k will support students training at Vancouver Film School programs in film, animation, and design; the submission deadline is May 31.
Vancouver Film School (VFS) has announced “The Launch Scholarship” to support students in film, animation, and design training. The scholarships are worth up to $158,000 – the application deadline is May 31, 2023, with recipients announced June 14. Funding is valid for the remaining VFS 2023 start dates.

To apply for “The Launch Scholarship,” prospective students must submit a creative link to their portfolio and answer personal submission questions. One applicant will be awarded a full-tuition scholarship to each of VFS’s three core schools: School of Animation, School of Film & Television, and School of Games & Creative Design. One (1) full-tuition scholarship to any School of Animation program:
- Animation Concept Art (12 months)
- Classical Animation (12 months)
- 3D Animation & Visual Effects (12 months)
One (1) full-tuition scholarship to any School of Film & Television program:
- Acting for Film & Television (12 months)
- Film Production (12 months)
- Makeup Design for Film & Television (12 months)
- Sound Design for Visual Media (12 months)
- Writing for Film, Television & Games (12 months)
One (1) full-tuition scholarship to any School of Games & Creative Design program:
- Digital Design (12 months)
- Game Design (12 months)
- Programming for Games, Web & Mobile (12 months)
- VR/AR Design & Development (8 months)
