Produced in Blender, the special is created, written, and helmed by Joeri Christiaen and follows Billie, a young lamb determined to prove sheep are as brave as other animals.
Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes), T’Nia Miller (Sex Education, The Diplomat), and Iris Onyejiuwa have joined the cast of the 3D animated special, A Lamb’s Stew. Miller and Onyejiuwa previously lent their voices to the film’s teaser, which was unveiled at Cartoon Forum 2024
Other cast members include Keith Wickham, Harriet Carmichael, Tibby Radcliffe, Hal Radcliffe, and Mackenzie Bruce-Lockhart.
The film follows Billie, a young lamb determined to prove that sheep are just as brave as other animals. Through her journey, she explores how preconceived ideas shape our worldviews.
Produced in Blender with some 2D sequences, the special is created, written, and helmed by Joeri Christiaen (Mush-Mush, My Knight and Me). Claire Paoletti (Shooom's Odyssey) served as story consultant for early drafts, while Julia Smuts Louw (Star Wars: Visions – Aau’s Song, The Smeds and the Smoos) edited the final script.
“Andy Serkis’ work, particularly on Caesar in Planet of the Apes, was a source of inspiration for writing the character of the Wolf – although I didn’t dare imagine that he would one day play the role,” said Christiaen. “As for T’Nia Miller, the quality of her performance in the teaser led me to make Miss Shearlington a central character in the story. I’m equally honoured to be working with Iris Onyejiuwa, who is playing her very first role in the film.”
A Lamb’s Stew is the first original special developed by La Cabane and Thuristar, and co-funded by the European Union with participation of the CNC and the support of the Procirep and the Angoa. Perrine Gauthier produces.
