Dropping a lofty 59%, X-MEN fell to sixth, grossing $466,646, thereby lifting its Italian cume to $4.1 million. In seventh, FREQUENCY channeled $460,570 in its Italian premiere. In France, SCARY MOVIE held onto the top spot with a gross of $2.32 million, raising its cume to $15.24 million. The French debut of SHAFT, therefore, had to settle for second, grossing $1.62 million. Over in the U.K., WHAT LIES BENEATH maintained its box office crown, grossing an additional $2.27 million, thus elevating its cume to $14.55 million. The premiere of Fox's BEDAZZLED finished in second with a gross of $2.14 million. Coming in third, the British PITCH BLACK debut scared up $1.91 million. Slipping one spot to fifth, DINOSAUR danced in another $959,727, bringing its U.K. cume to $18.4 million. Falling from 7th to place 9th, THE LITTLE VAMPIRE added $502,881 to its $5.03 million U.K. cume. In Australia, WHAT LIES spent its second week at #1, with a gross of $1.31 million, elevating its cume to $3.03 million. Guy Ritchie's SNATCH made a Wednesday debut in third, grossing $1.39 million. In fifth, SHAFT secured $491,613, growing its Australian cume to $2.59 million. Closing out the top ten, SPACE COWBOYS floated an additional $66,962, increasing its Australian cume to $2.67 million. In Sweden, WHAT LIES drifted down one to second, grossing $285,851, thereby raising its cume to $692,750. In a third place Swedish premiere, SHAFT rounded up $198,219. U-571's debut surfaced in fourth with a gross of $155,259. In its fourth week in Swedish theaters, SCARY MOVIE grabbed another $136,270 in fifth place, growing its cume to $1.91 million. In Japan, CHARLIE'S ANGELS kicked their way to premiere in first place, grossing $882,499. SPACE COWBOYS rocketed up a slot to second, with a gross of $614,858, elevating its Japanese cume to $1.34 million. Toei's LAWS OF THE SUN fell one place to third, grossing $607,416, thus growing its Japanese cume to $1.91 million. Last week's champion, HOLLOW MAN, bottomed out and fell to sixth, adding $350,597 to its $3.87 million Japanese cume. In a lackluster debut, SHAFT placed eighth with a gross of $261,902. In ninth, X-MEN extracted an additional $217,054 from moviegoers, bringing its Japanese cume to $5.1 million. Finishing out the top ten, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON collected $198,536, climbing its Japanese cume to $486,367. In Canada, ANGELS held onto the top spot with a gross of $2.7 million, escalating its cume to $6.86 million. In a mediocre debut in third, RED PLANET racked up $845,937. In an equally unimpressive premiere, LITTLE NICKY came in fourth, with a gross of $791,716. In its second week in Canada, THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE swung in $420,070 at #6, pushing its cume to $1.1 million. In ninth, BEDAZZLED seduced another $271,843, increasing its Canadian cume to $2.86 million.
