Deadline.com reports that one of Hollywood's most mellow actors, Mark Ruffalo, is up for the role of the Hulk in THE AVENGERS. He would replace Edward Norton who played the character in Marvel's THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Norton and Marvel head Kevin Feige have gotten into a public row over the casting of the role in Joss Whedon's AVENGERS, with Feige publicly stating that negotiations with Norton broke down not over financial reasons, but the need for an actor willing to work with an ensemble cast.
