Netflix Drops ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ Teaser Trailer

Minnie Driver and Michelle Yeah star in the prequel set 1,200 years prior to the popular ‘The Witcher’ series, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one; the 4-part limited series streams Christmas day.

Netflix dropped a teaser trailer and character art for its upcoming limited series The Witcher: Blood Origin, the latest addition to the popular fantasy drama franchise, The Witcher, based on the books of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. The four-part series premieres on December 25.

Set in an elven world 1,200 years before the time of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, the series tells a tale lost to time: one of seven outcasts who unite against an unstoppable power that took everything from them. Their blood quest gives rise to a prototype Witcher in a conflict that brings about the “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.

The series stars Minnie Driver (Seanchaí); Laurence O’Fuarain (Fjall); Sophia Brown (Éile); Michelle Yeoh (Scían); Mirren Mack (Merwyn); Lenny Henry (Balor); Jacob Collins Levy (Eredin); Lizzie Annis (Zacaré); Huw Novelli (Callan “Brother Death”); Francesca Mills (Meldof); Amy Murray (Fenrik); Nathaniel Curtis (Brían); Zach Wyatt (Syndril); Dylan Moran (Uthrok One-Nut); Aidan O'Callaghan (Kareg); and Joey Batey (Jaskier).

Declan de Barra is creator, showrunner, and executive producer, with Sarah O’Gorman and Vicky Jewson directing. Lauren Hissrich, Matt O’Toole, Tomek Baginski, Jarek Sawko (Platige Films), and Jason Brown & Sean Daniel (Hivemind Content) serve as executive producers.
