Nelvana’s ‘Millie Magnificent’ Animated Series Goes International

Based on the book series by Ashley Spires, the project will roll out on ABC in Australia, DR in Denmark, and Télé-Québec in French Canada throughout 2025.

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has announced its 3DCG prequel series Millie Magnificent, based on the book series by Ashley Spires, will roll out on ABC in Australia, DR in Denmark, and Télé-Québec in French Canada throughout 2025. The series will also appear on international broadcasters Canal+ (France), Treehouse/STACKTV (English Canada), YLE (Finland), RTS (Switzerland), SVT (Sweden), and HOP! (Israel).

“With its imaginative storylines and premium animation, Millie Magnificent is a celebration of creativity, innovation and perseverance, with values that resonate deeply with today’s young audiences,” said Tonya Lindo, Head of Business Operations at Nelvana and Kids Can Press. “Leveraging the success of Kids Can Press’ publishing program and our animated short film, we’re delighted to welcome ABC, DR and Télé-Québec to our growing list of partners for Millie Magnificent. Each of these platforms are home to many beloved original children’s programs making them the ‘most magnificent’ destination for Millie and her Creato-Crew friends.”

The series highlights Millie’s determination and sparks of imagination. Featuring her adorable dog Wallace and best friends Ben & Maya, Millie strives to find the most magnificent solutions to challenges in their community while navigating big emotions in a kid friendly context.

“We’re excited to bring Millie Magnificent to our audiences in 2025,” said Maria-Nicole Miriklis, Acquisitions Manager, ABC. “Millie’s infectious curiosity and the can-do approach to STEAM sets this series apart. It’s a great extension of the story world from the half hour special, which has been enjoyed on our platforms since 2020.”

Kids Can Press, Corus Entertainment’s children’s book publisher, will also welcome a fourth ‘Most Magnificent’ book from Ashley Spires this year.
