Lead VFX vendor MPC delivers 425 shots for Ridley Scott’s space epic, including shuttle launch sequences, the storm sequence, and scenes on Mars.
MPC has unveiled a new VFX breakdown for 20th Century Fox’s The Martian, which has been nominated for an Oscar for outstanding visual effects.
Led by production VFX supervisor Richard Stammers and MPC VFX supervisor Anders Langland, MPC was the lead visual effects studio on Ridley Scott’s The Martian. Delivering 425 shots, the MPC team was responsible for all of the scenes that took place on Mars, including shots of Watney working around the Hab, travelling across the Martian surface in his rover, storm sequence and shuttle launch sequences.
