In the most adorable crossover of all time, the new, original hand-drawn short focuses on Baby Yoda and the soot sprites, beloved Ghibli characters from ‘My Neighbor Totoro’ and ‘Spirited Away.’
Mystery solved! The Studio Ghibli/Lucasfilm crossover project teased last week with a rather cryptic Twitter video has been revealed, and it is quite possibly the most adorable concept ever. Star Wars: Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies is an original hand-drawn short that focuses on Baby Yoda and some friendly soot sprites, the beloved Ghibli characters from My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away.

Streaming tomorrow on @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/G8tV37OD87— Star Wars | Andor & Tales of the Jedi On Disney+ (@starwars) November 12, 2022
Not only is this release exciting, but sudden as well. Zen dropped quite unexpectedly over the weekend on November 12, 2022 and can be streamed now on Disney+ in the Star Wars section. The three-minute film features a purple-eared Grogu as he meets and plays with the mischievous “dust bunnies,” aka the Susuwatari, or soot sprites, for the first time.
Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies was directed Katsuya Kondo, and of course animated by Studio Ghibli. If you aren’t opening up the Disney+ app right now, what are you waiting for???
