Constance Wu, Natasha Liu Bordizzo and more join the animated feature based on ‘1001 Nights’ from Sony, Beijing Sparkle Roll Media and Base Animation.
Jackie Chan leads the voice cast for the animated feature ‘Wish Dragon.’
Animated feature Wish Dragon has added stars Jackie Chan and Constance Wu (of ABC’s comedy series Fresh Off the Boat) to its English-language voice cast, Deadline reports.
A theatrical release in China is planned for 2019, with international and U.S. releases also in the works for the Sony Pictures Animation, Beijing Sparkle Roll Media Corp. and Base Animation project.
Other additions include Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Greatest Showman), Will Yun Lee (Rampage), Nico Santos (Superstore), Jimmy Wong (The Circle) and Bobby Lee (Splitting Up Together). John Cho (Star Trek Beyond) and Jimmy O. Yang (Silicon Valley) are in talks to join the cast as well.
Directed by Chris Appelhans, the film retells the story of 1001 Nights. Aron Warner (Shrek) and Chris Bremble are producing the movie, with Ian Sugarman as executive producer.
