HIT Signs Smartoonz Distribution Deal

HIT Entertainment announced a strategic distribution and co-production agreement with Smartoonz, a division of Zeppelin Animation to distribute and sell three of its pre-school television shows around the world.

HIT has acquired the distribution rights to LITTLE FABLES, an animated pre-school show targeting 2 to 5 year olds and will co-produce MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO and CLAY PLAY, both of which are slated for delivery in 2009. HIT has also secured first option rights on all future properties from Smartoonz.

HIT has just concluded its first deal for Smartoonz at this year's MIPTV with the Thailand cable operator UBC. UBC has purchased the first series of LITTLE FABLES (26x5.5) with the show set to broadcast in August 2008.

LITTLE FABLES is a 2D and 3D animated show targeting 2-5 year olds that plays the classics of Aesop and La Fontaine. In each episode, the animals face a problem that all young children can relate to such as "What if I am the smallest kid on the block?" The animals work together to come up with options to solve their problems in ways that convey positive messages that are easily understood by young children around the world.

MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO is a live children and 3D Animation show targeting 2 to 6 year olds. The series features a monkey host that gets children wagging their tails and flapping their wings to a boogying jungle game. The monkey host invites kids to discover, imitate and then dance along with the animal guest of the day. The show culminates with an all singing, all dancing party in the jungle kingdom.

CLAY PLAY is a stop-motion show targeting 1 to 3 year olds and stimulates children's imagination and creativity. What will the clump of clay become this time? Elephants playing catch with a coconut? A tractor tilling the soil? Clay can magically become anything and everything.
