The Help Takes Four-Day Box Office

Focus Feature's THE DEBT was the top debut film, placing second with $12.6 million.

Dimension Films' APOLLO 18 landed in third with $10.7 million. Image Engine Design provided the vfx.

Relativity Media's SHARK NIGHT 3D swam into fourth, biting off $10.3 million. Digital Sandbox, Makeup Effects Laboratories, Reliance Media Works VFX and Switch VFX provided the visual effects.

Fox's RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES placed fifth, earning another $10.3 million. With vfx from Weta Digital, Halon Ent. and Pixel Liberation Front, the hit prequel has amassed $162.5 million to date.

TriStar's COLOMBIANA plummeted from second to sixth. With vfx from Special FX International and Wolf Stuntworks, the assassin actioner added $9.4 million to its $24 million cume.

The Weinstein Co.'s OUR IDIOT BROTHER moved into seventh, adding $7.05 million to its $17.3 million total.

Dimension's SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD rescued an additional $6.61 million in eighth place. With effects from Hybride, Speedshape and Troublemaker Studios, the family franchise film has a cume of $31 million.

FilmDistrict's DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK tumbled from fourth to ninth, scaring up $6.14 million. With vfx from Iloura and Spectral Motion, the haunted house horror flick has earned $17.6 million to date.

Sony's THE SMURFS rounded out the top ten with $5.6 million. With vfx from Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI), Framestore, Lola Visual Effects, Tippett Studio, Drac Studios, Illusion Industries, The Base Studio and The Third Floor, the blue men (and one girl) group has brought in $133.6 million thus far.
