Former Pixar Execs Launch ToyTalk

A sneak peek at ToyTalk, founded by former Pixar executives Oren Jacob, Martin Reddy and Bobby Podesta.

Family entertainment company ToyTalk, founded by former Pixar executives Oren Jacob, Martin Reddy and Bobby Podesta, may change the way kids interact with their favorite toys.

Although the actual app won’t launch until early next year, the company has released a short video that shows what this highly creative team has been working on: talking toys that use artificial intelligence and scripted voices utilizing the iPad.

As technology becomes increasingly interactive, tablets are rapidly replacing the television on the home entertainment front. Given ToyTalk’s interactive capabilities, it will be interesting to see how this technology is applied to licensed characters from companies such as DreamWorks and Disney.
