Foothill heads to MIPtv with pre-sales and pre-production plans for the animated series “Boy and the Dinosaur.”
Santa Barbara, CA -- Foothill Entertainment will be traveling to Cannes with major pre-sales and pre-production planning underway for the groundbreaking animation series, Boy and the Dinosaur. From award-winning producer, 1461 Limited, and renowned animation house, Studio Liddell, the series, which was the 3rd most viewed show at MIPJunior, has attracted legions of fans around the globe and is sure to continue to steal the hearts of many.
Since the formal launch of international sales at MIPJunior, Foothill has secured pre-sales to several significant broadcasters in major territories, with announcements to be made shortly. In addition, Foothill is looking to cement final pre-sales at MIP in the wake of a 360-degree advertising and marketing campaign for the series, culminating with the MIP-TV market. “What began as a short student film that premiered at MIPJunior several years ago, has blossomed into something incredible,” says Jo Kavanagh-Payne, President of Foothill. “The series has been painstakingly developed by 1461 Limited and its brilliant creative and production team, and we are proud to be part of its growth.” The series will be written, animated, composed and produced by a multi-BAFTA award-winning UK team, including director Paul Couvela (Bob the Builder, Chuggington), producer David Bunting (Shaun the Sheep, The Tigger Movie) and writer Davey Moore (Octanauts, Thomas & Friends, Rastamouse).
Boy and the Dinosaur is about an ordinary Boy and his extraordinary friend, Dinosaur. It blends strong visual storytelling and broad, physical comedy with plenty of original music and a simple educational philosophy that resonates on a global basis.
Boy and Dinosaur are best friends; the brother that Boy doesn't have. The series is a journey of discovery, with neither Boy nor Dinosaur being the mentor of the other - they are learning about the world around them together. Each episode contains a unique song performed in a style that will appeal to young viewers and adults alike. This makes Boy and the Dinosaur sound different to other shows - giving it a warm but familiar feel and a special, intimate atmosphere all its own.
With delivery commencing April 2014, worldwide rights are available for this series produced by 1461 Limited.
