25+ year industry veteran, the former President, VFX at MPC, joins the company’s visual effects division to support and expand production offerings across its growing TV business.
DNEG has announced that Tom Williams has joined its visual effects division as Managing Director, Episodic, based out of the company’s London studio. In his new role, Williams will support the company’s expansion of its episodic VFX offerings.
Williams brings 25+ years of industry experience, including 10 years in management roles at Sky and 10 years at Abbey Road Studios. He spent the last five years at MPC, where his roles included Managing Director, Episodic, and most recently, President, VFX.
DNEG’s award-winning episodic team’s accolades in recent years include two Primetime Emmys (Star Trek: Discovery and Chernobyl) and three VES Awards (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Foundation). In addition, the team recently delivered VFX work on projects such as The Last of Us (HBO Max), Extrapolations (Apple TV+), Stranger Things Season 4 (Netflix), and Citadel (Amazon Prime).

As Managing Director, Episodic, Williams will drive the company’s global episodic VFX services and support episodic clients across DNEG and ReDefine in partnership with the executive teams across both brands. Williams will report to Rohan Desai, managing director DNEG VFX (Canada) and ReDefine.
