No word yet on plot or release date. The sixth installment (technically seventh as explained below) in the hugely successful animated franchise will be the first to release in theaters under Disney’s ownership after purchasing – and then shutting down – Blue Sky Studios as part of its 21st Century Fox film and TV asset purchase back in 2019. A 2022 film, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, originally planned as a series, was produced by 20th Century Animation and released to negative reviews on Disney+.
