The nine-digit price-tagged prehistoric epic grossed US$38.85 million. DreamWorks GLADIATOR dazzled audiences to the tune of another $19.75 million. The Roman romp in only three weeks of release has made a total of $103.1 million. Slipping a spot to #4, U-571 grossed an additional $4.64 million. The Universal U-boat adventure has made $64.39 million thus far in the U.S. New Lines FREQUENCY dropped to 5th place making $4.34 million. The son and father sci-fi flick has a cume of $30.37 million. Feeling the punch of the worst reviews in years, BATTLEFIELD EARTH toppled to 6th place, fleecing uninformed moviegoers for another $3.92 million. John Travoltas labor of love has unearthed a total of $18.26 million. With live-action ROAD TRIP filling viewers needs of flatulence fun, THE FLINTSTONES IN VIVA ROCK VEGAS fell to #10 from 5th place. The prehistoric prequel made another $2.54 million, raising its cume to $27.83 million. Other animated and special effects laden films finishing in the top fifty were: FINAL DESTINATION at #18, with a gross of $683,666 and a cume of $50.84 million; ROMEO MUST DIE at #25, with a gross of $325,599 and a cume of $55.19 million; MISSION TO MARS at #27, with a gross of $302,542 and a cume of $59.54 million; AMERICAN BEAUTY at #30, with a gross of $193,216 and a cume of $129.7 million; THE ROAD TO EL DORADO at #31, with a gross of $182,751 and a cume of $49.49 million; TOY STORY 2 at #32, with a gross of $180,640 and a cume of $245 million; T-REX: BACK TO THE CRETACEOUS at #35, with a gross of $138,665 and a cume of $29.37 million; PITCH BLACK at #41, with a gross of $89,597 and a cume of $39.03 million; and ALIEN ADVENTURE at #44, with a gross of $70,334 and a cume of $0.88 million.
