How this will affect his input into the AMC series is yet unknown. The legalities of his new role are still being hammered out. Since his departure Glen Mazzara has taken over as showrunner.
The zombie drama is AMC’s highest-rated series and season one's finale drew six million viewers, the highest ratings for a basic cable drama ever. The new season begins on Oct. 16.
