Cynthia Erivo, Holly Hunter, and Steve Buscemi Join ‘Big Mouth’ Final Season

With an impressive guest cast that also includes Kristen Wiig, Ali Wong, and Chloe Fineman, Season 8 of Netflix’s Emmy Award-winning animated comedy, which follows the Bridgeton teens dealing with puberty’s glorious nightmare… now as highschoolers, streams May 23.

Netflix has dropped casting info and first look images from the final season of Big Mouth, the critically acclaimed Emmy-winning adult animated comedy about a group of teens dealing with puberty's glorious nightmare – now in high school.

Inspired by series creators and executive producers Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg’s childhood, the show follows a group of friends and their hormone monsters as they navigate adolescence, human sexuality, and coming of age. Season 8 sees the Bridgeton teens tackle new challenges as high schoolers such as: driving, drugs, sexual inexperience, enthusiastic consent, porn and the teenage mind, cancel culture, their changing bodies, and (in the end) fear of the looming future.

In the show, friendship is the cornerstone for surviving this time of life – whether one’s puberty is just beginning, like for Nick who gets his first growth spurt, or near its conclusion, like for a maturing (and prematurely balding) Andrew. At the height of the season, when many of our characters are in crisis, Compassion (personified as a new creature voiced by Holly Hunter), emerges as a crucial way forward. Ultimately, though, this season is about the importance of sticking by and supporting your friends, especially when life gets overwhelming and messy. In the end, our kids step into the harrowing unknown of the future, made less afraid of what’s to come because they have each other.

Every season, the show boasts a stellar lineup of guest stars; Season 8 continues the trend by welcoming Cynthia Erivo, Holly Hunter, Steve Buscemi, Kristen Wiig, Quinta Brunson, Nathan Fillion, Ali Wong, Richard Kind, Maria Bamford, Keke Palmer, David Thewlis, Thandiwe Newton, Natasha Lyonne, Aidy Bryant, Rosie Perez, Lena Waithe, Billy Porter, Stephanie Beatriz, Whitmer Thomas, Chelsea Peretti, Chloe Fineman, June Diane Raphael, Zach Woods, Craig Robinson, and Jack McBrayer.

Comedian John Mulaney lends his voice to Andrew, while Kroll voices numerous characters, including his best friend, Nick. In addition, Maya Rudolph; Jason Mantzoukas; Jordan Peele; Fred Armisen; Andrew Rannells; Ayo Edebiri; and Jessi Klein voice main characters in the series.

Kroll, Goldberg, and screenwriter-directors Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett are all creators and executive producers of the series. Big Mouth is a Netflix production.

The final season of Big Mouth premieres globally May 23 on Netflix.
