Charlie's Angels Charms International Box Offices

With international numbers trickling in due to the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, it looks like CHARLIE'S ANGELS is charming audiences around the world. In its U.K. debut, ANGELS raked in a whopping US$4.52 million. After five-weeks in U.K. theatres, WHAT LIES BENEATH sunk to second, with a gross of $768,052, elevating its cume to $16.39 million. In fourth, BEDAZZLED danced in with $505,329, raising its U.K. cume to $3.92 million. LITTLE NICKY possessed 5th place, grossing $385,214, thereby growing its U.K. cume to $1.46 million. Falling from fourth to sixth, PITCH BLACK scared up another $382,653, lifting its U.K. cume to $3.29 million. DINOSAUR walked in at #7, with a gross of $371,947, pushing its U.K. cume to a sturdy $18.5 million. Holding onto the eighth slot, THE LITTLE VAMPIRE flew home with an additional $297,727, bringing its U.K. cume to $5.65 million. In Australia, CHARLIE'S ANGELS scored a top place premiere by grossing $2.11 million. As in England, WHAT LIES BENEATH dropped from the top spot, this time landing in third, with a gross of $332,000, escalating its Australian cume to $3.8 million. In fourth, THE CELL captured another $258,000, advancing its Australian cume to $1 million. SNATCH stole fifth place, grossing $243,000, thus bringing its Australian cume to $2.1 million. In ninth, SHAFT added $65,000 to its $2.6 million Australian cume. In Italy, ANGELS' debut floated in first place with a ticket take of $1.11 million. SCARY MOVIE slipped to second, grossing $715,287, thus growing its Italian cume to $4.36 million. Making a very weak Italian debut in ninth, PITCH BLACK scrounged up only $155,096. After a full week in Germany, DINOSAUR retained the top spot, with a gross of $2.49 million, climbing its cume to $7.26 million. THE CELL's German premiere had to settle for second with an opening nod of $2.35 million. America's sensation, HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, debuted in third with a gross of $2.17 million. Falling from fourth to sixth, SPACE COWBOYS collected another $355,452, pushing its German cume to $4.08 million. In seventh, SHAFT grabbed $276,133, increasing its German cume to $5.81 million. Closing out the German top ten, SCARY MOVIE doubled over audiences to the tune of $165,676, advancing its cume to $16.08 million. In Sweden, DINOSAUR roared in its premiere at first, scoring $879,717. WHAT LIES BENEATH slipped one spot to third, grossing $224,375, thereby moving its Swedish cume to $903,043. In fourth, SHAFT secured an additional $134,444, raising its Swedish cume to $331,966. Falling from fifth place to seventh, SCARY MOVIE slashed in $93,948, climbing its Swedish cume to $1.96 million. In eighth, U-571 added $92,964 to its $250,664 Swedish cume. Once again SCARY MOVIE claimed the #1 slot in France, with a gross of $1.89 million, elevating its cume $20.64 million. In its French debut, SNATCH gained $1.25 million. Down from second, SHAFT claimed the fourth spot, with a gross of $1.08 million, increasing its French cume to $3.07 million.
