Bournemouth Announces New Post-Grad Opportunities

The Arts University Bournemouth announces new post-graduate opportunities with a taught Masters course, MA Animation Production.

The Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is at the forefront of exciting new developments in postgraduate courses in Animation. There is a new taught Masters course, MA Animation Production, as well as opportunities to conduct research in the field by enrolling as an MPhil/PhD student.

Professor Paul Ward, who is heading up these postgraduate developments, sees this as the next stage of development for Animation:

“Animation as a practice is a vital part of the creative industries in the UK and includes traditional animation but also games, visual effects, interactive and cross-platform work, and more experimental practitioners working in galleries and making installations. Animation Studies as an academic field has gone through a huge transformation in the past 10-15 years, and the developments at AUB are building on this to encourage the research and creative practice that will lead the way in the coming decades. The AUB is world-renowned for its excellent provision in Animation at undergraduate level, and we are keen to foster the same philosophy – a dynamic synthesis of practice, theory and professionalism – in our taught MA and research degree provision.”

Suitably qualified applicants are encouraged for MA Animation Production and MPhil/PhD research in Animation. Professional animators who wish to explore their practice in a postgraduate context are especially welcome.
