BATTLESTAR GALACTICA exec producer David Eick has resigned his first-look agreement with NBC Universal, reports VARIETY. Despite the deal with NBC Universal, he has set up a host of projects in various stages at various studios, including Fox thriller THEM, two projects with FX, projects with SCI FI Channel and a miniseries with Lifetime. With NBC, he is overseeing the re-imagining of THE BIONIC WOMAN.
For FX, Eick will team with Ronald D. Moore on GUILTY PLEASURES, which takes place in a small town that can only be saved by the growth of Big Tobacco. Moore will pen the script and will exec produce with Eick.
Eick's WANTING at FX with writer Will Strouse is described as a mix of ALL ABOUT EVE and FIGHT CLUB.
For SCI FI, Eick and Moore are teaming on CAPRICA, which might turn into a BATTLESTAR prequel. It's being written by Remi Aubuchon. Also at SCI FI, he is working with Matt Cirulnick on a miniseries about the end of the world.
