Audiomotion Boosts Triple-A Games

Audiomotion is pleased to announce its involvement in two soon-to-be-released, top-tier video game titles launching in the next few months.

Oxford, UK – Audiomotion is pleased to announce its involvement in two soon-to-be-released, top-tier video game titles launching in the next few months. Following on from the success of recent work on 2K’s Spec Ops: The Line and Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier earlier this year, Audiomotion can now unveil its further partnership with Ubisoft -- this time for the long awaited Far Cry 3. The other key autumn title that features Audiomotion’s best-of-breed motion capture service is Microsoft’s Forza Horizon.

Audiomotion set up a 70 camera location system from its 162 camera inventory, on a soundstage to record 2 days worth of full performance capture for Far Cry 3’s multiplayer campaign. The narrative driven, in-game cutscene production is integral to the game’s co-op mode. As part of the campaign, an explosive cinematic trailer was also cast and captured by Audiomotion, this time on its impressive 15 x 15 metre stage located in Oxford. Working with a top stunt coordinator and team of world class stunt performers, the team set up a production rig complete with wire work, weapon work and high action combat sequences.

The Forza Horizon motion capture took place over the course of six days and included two days of cutscene work with a cast of seven actors. The in-game animation featured a number of crowd sequences, background characters and driver moves. Over the course of the project a number of working car props were recreated by the prop team at Audiomotion including the classic Dodge Charger 69 and Mercedes SL65 AMG - all designed to scale from a series of models and real car dimensions.

Mick Morris, managing director, Audiomotion comments: “2012 saw some of most demanding and creatively-challenging projects we’ve ever worked on. We’ve had to genuinely push the boundaries of current technology to bring our clients’ visions to life, with our videogame work matching anything needed for film or TV in terms of full performance capture and the complexity of the animation we’ve created.” He continues, “We’re always striving to improve our combination of technology and artistry and as we go from strength to strength, we’re really looking forward to building on the level of service we can deliver by developing new and innovative techniques for motion capture in 2013 and beyond.”

With the latest Far Cry and Forza titles set to raise the bar following their imminent release, Audiomotion prepares to add another set of successful franchise titles to an already impressive portfolio, with more AAA work to be announced shortly. Now with more than 70 titles under its belt, Audiomotion is always striving to provide unparalleled motion capture services and consolidate its position as a true global leader in its field.
