Out of a record 103 submissions, 50 works are chosen, including 28 TV series, 10 feature films, 4 TV specials, and 8 cross-media projects; conference runs May 6-8 in Stuttgart.
Animation Production Days 2025 (APD) has announced this year’s selections, which include 50 animation projects from 17 countries. From May 6-8, producers and creatives will present their projects to potential partners in one-to-one meetings in Stuttgart. The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) and the FMX – Film & Media Exchange will take place concurrently.
Out of a record 103 submitted projects, the 50 selected works include 28 TV series, 10 feature films, four TV specials, and eight cross-media projects (two include VR elements). An overview of the selected projects can be found on the APD website.
With the conference’s special focus on Swiss animation, the promotion agency Swiss Films has collaborated with the Swiss Consulate General, and GSFA (Groupement Suisse du Film d'Animation), to present programs such as “Women in Swiss Animation” and “Future Minds: Films by Upcoming Talents.”
12 projects have been selected from Germany this year with Spain, Denmark and France (five each) as well as Finland, Italy and England (three each) also being strongly represented. In addition, there are projects from Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Poland and Serbia.
Of the submitted projects, 26 were applications for the coveted APD Talent Programme, which sees eight European projects selected every year. In addition to receiving free accreditation, the young producers and creatives also get the opportunity to discuss their ideas with experienced industry experts at APD, make new contacts, and find partners for their projects.
