Press Release from 4Kids Ent.
DINOSAUR KING, part of the 4Kids Entertainment, Inc brand portfolio, is building on its success across Europe with the signing of two new licensees in France and the U.K. and Ireland.
DINOSAUR KING is the popular animated series that chronicles the adventures of Max, Rex and Zoe, known as the ‘D Team’, who search the world for Dinosaur cards that have the power to bring dinosaurs back to life. The biggest challenge for the three young heroes is to find all the dinosaur cards before the villainous Alpha Gang get their hands on them.
In France, Jouceo is scheduled to launch a set of branded collectable magnets in summer 2010, these will be available in a box of 30 sachets as well as blister packs containing 3 sachets, the range will also feature a collection guide book with 2 to 5 sachets, a collector’s album, and a ‘pocket surprise’ – a booster set containing a mixture of products such as magnets, pens, mousepads, pencils, bookmarks and badges. In the UK and Ireland, William Lamb is on board for slippers, trainers, and outdoor shoes, with the product also set to hit the shelves next summer.
DINOSAUR KING is hugely popular in both territories – in France, Season 2 of the TV series is set to air on Canal J from September 15th and Gulli from October 17th. In the UK, the show is currently airing on GMTV Kids and Jetix, and on RTE in Ireland. The Dinosaur King trading card game also sells very well in both territories.
These new deals boost a strong existing licensing programme – in France this includes Tennessee for stationery, Tournon for publishing, Sun City for apparel, Universal for home entertainment and Belltex for bedding. In the U.K. licensees include Ensobrados for pogs, Pyramid Posters for posters, badge packs and key chains, E1 for DVDs, Aykroyd & TDP Licensing for nightwear and underwear, and Smith and Brooks for apparel. Licensees that cover both territories include Upper Deck for Trading Cards, Sega for video games and H Grossman for outdoor toys.
“These new partners add to an impressive list of DINOSAUR KING licensees in France and the U.K. and Ireland,” said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, Managing Director, 4Kids Entertainment International, “the brand is a huge success in both territories and we will continue to build on this across all categories.”
